Christmas in our Hearts: Featuring the Talented TLFA Students :)

Watching children as young as two years old perform onstage, with spotlights, and in front of a large audience is just heart-melting (in Tagalog: nakaka-kilig). I was such a proud teacher last December 16, 2011 as my pupils sang and danced as part of the school's Christmas play entitled Christmas in our Hearts, featuring performances from all the students of Tarlac Living Faith Academy.

The story that the preschool department presented was so simple yet very meaningful; it was about the birth of Jesus Christ, the real Christmas story. It started with a narration of what happened in the beginning: how God created everything including man, life in the Garden of Eden, and how sin entered the world. Two Preparatory pupils were the narrators. I admire those two bright children because they memorized their lengthy lines! The voices were all recorded but all of the characters memorized their lines and mouthed exact words. Amazing!

Then, the birth of Jesus Christ was portrayed. Several Preparatory pupils acted as Mary, Joseph, Angel Gabriel, the shepherds, and the wise men. They were all good actors!

Aside from acting, dance numbers were also given by the preschool children. The Prep pupils danced Christmas Praise is in the Air, showing the joyful celebration of the coming birth of Jesus Christ.

Look at the skirts of the girls and the boys' costumes! The preschool teachers were the ones who made them! They were made of metallic foil. I salute the Prep teachers' creativity!

The Nursery children, on the other hand, acted as the angels who sang and declared the glory of the coming Savior. Wearing charming angel costumes, they showed delight and enjoyment in dancing Hark the Herald. Some of them were even singing while dancing! How talented!

There were song and dance numbers featuring all the preschool children. One of those was the Go Tell It on the Mountain presentation. It portrayed the shepherds telling others about the good news that Jesus Christ was born.

And of course, the youngest children in the preschool family were not left behind when it came to performing that night! My adorable two- to three-year-old pupils went up the stage to dance while holding a star! I could not explain the joy I felt that very moment, as I watched them onstage. They danced to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, showing the star that served as a guide of the three magi who visited Jesus to offer him gifts. They could not help not to get distracted with the things they saw on the stage, though. ;) But they were still adorable!

Telling the message that Jesus is the best gift of all, the Kindergarten pupils danced The Best Present of All. Their performance was very entertaining because they seemed to enjoy what they were doing!

Next, all the children interpreted and sang the song Tell the World of His Love, encouraging people to bring the message, that God so loved the world that He gave His Son Jesus, to everyone.

Some of the Prep children interpreted the song Tell the World of His Love.

Some, on the other hand, sang.

The closing song was Until Jesus Christ Comes Again, telling of the sure hope we have that Jesus is coming again. It was heart-melting to see all of the preschool children dancing!

My pupils were also dancing! :)

I also felt proud of the elementary and the high school students! I watched them perform passionately. They seemed to enjoy everything that they did during the play, from singing to dancing to acting. They adapted a play from Psalty's collection, Psalty's Christmas Calamity. All the students were so talented! I felt like I was watching a real theatrical play. Wonderful!

Some students played the violin. Aren't they amazing?

The closing number. These children really deserved applause!

Indeed, the TLFA Christmas Play 2011 was successful. The time spent and the effort we teachers exerted for the play were not in vain. Indeed, our labor for the Lord is not in vain. Behind the script-making, voice recording, dance choreographing, teaching of songs, and all the rehearsals, was God at work. Yes, we were proud of the success of the play. But the credit belongs to God alone. To him be the glory!
